A radar chart is a graph in which each data series has it’s own axis and ‘radiates’ out from a central point.
Use: A radar chart is particularly useful when there are multiple characteristics that need to be compromised to a point (a ‘sweet spot’) that is most pleasing to most of the customers in a particular niche. For example, there really is no such thing as a perfect car that will please everyone. For the customer who wants excellent gas mileage, a car model that has excellent acceleration will be in conflict. A customer who wants a tight turning radius will not match up with the customer who wants to haul large panels of sheet rock. The radar chart will show graphically the various trade-offs needed to best please the largest segment of the population or niche.
